Hi I am new to this group. I had my left side removed as had a nodule on it. It turned out to be papillary. Consultant said they are positive that it has been all removed and lymph nodes are clear. Waiting for confirmation from Liverpool.
Can't help but to feel anxious. My scar is healing really well.
Just feel extremely anxious that it hasn't been all removed and I need further treatment.
Hi.
I am 17 months after FIRST surgery. In Liverpool. This Feb had to have second one as something was left behind. However they are keeping an eye on it immersely and I am sure that will be the case with you as well.
If they are happy at the moment with how everything went I would accept that. And if there is something else they will have to deal with later they also will and you will be fine.
Take care x
Hi, I’m coming up to 2 years post surgery and can entirely remember feeling like that. I don’t know if you were the same, but I didn’t have any symptoms when they found the nodule which made it really hard to feel like it was gone when I had never noticed it before, to then be able to notice it’s absence and feel like it was really over. The only time I felt it was really gone was at a scan recently when a dr looked at me and said “look, you’re not meant to say this, but I really don’t think it’s ever going to bother you again”. Generally Drs won’t say this but thyroid cancer has really good treatment outcomes and so if they make the call to not carry out any further treatment, they’re generally quite confident all will be okay. Obviously I can’t speak for your Drs, but they’re really cautious once you’ve had a confirmed cancer diagnosis and if they had any worries would take every precaution. Again, I obviously can’t speak for your Drs but that was certainly my experience and what I’ve heard from a number of healthcare professionals I have in my life. Glad to hear your scar is healing you well and thinking of you - the first few months after treatment can be hard so hope you’re doing well
