Hello, I’m very new here. I had ovarian cancer 2 years ago when I was 17. However, now they have found a thyroid nodule 3 months a ago that was 7mm and my most recent scan showed that it has grown very quickly to 15mm. They are sending me to endocrinologist to discuss biopsy and where to go from here as they are concerned with the rate of growth. I’m very much anxious and I was wondering if anyone has any advice?
It's entirely understandable to be anxious especially when you've been through cancer once already.
All I can really say is try not to worry too much (dumb advice, I know) because something like 90% of thyroid lumps turn out to be nothing sinister and even if you did have cancer, at your age and with that size of lump, the prognosis is excellent.
Best wishes
Barbara
