  • Thank you Blush

I dont have diagnosis yet .I am waiting for result.I had a surgury because they were suspecting thyroid cancer. They found two nodules so they removed all thyroid.

  • Im sorry your feeling so bad. It's a really tough time. With the levothyroxine are you fasting for an hour before eating or drnking coffee ect? I wasn't told this to being with.

In my area there's counciling service for people going through what we are, maybe Macmillan people can sign post you to some services In your area, also I have found there great to just phone and talk to xx

  • Thank you for messageBlushyes  I dont eat before. Is this normal ?

  • Yes, it should be taken on an empty stomach, and you shouldn’t eat for an hour afterwards as well.
If you look on the NHS website and search for levothyroxine, it explains how to take it properly – or just follow what your doctors have advised.
Have you had your blood test for your TSH levels yet? It’s usually done around 6 weeks after surgery, and once you have those results you’ll know whether the dosage is right for you.

Waiting for results, i find the hardest, be kind to yourself x

  • Thank you again. I also take omeprozole  so I am taking it 3-4 h after hormone tablets. I had surgur y 2 weeks ago so I am waiting for mine blood test.

  • Hi Marta

I had my surgery on Monday, and had my thyroid fully removed. I was on Levothryoxine 100mg prior to the surgery, but this has been upped to 150mg per day. My mood has been all over the place since Tuesday when I was discharged. I feel I should be happy that it is all over (no radio or chemotherapy), and have my review on 12th March, but just not feeling a mood for anything.

I hope you will be ok

    Tony
