I had my thyroid and lymph nodes removed 10 days ago. I have a large sold wedge like wound (ie not flat). Has anyone else had the same surgery and if so what was your wound like please? How long did it take to heal? Thanks
It is scary when you feel a thick hard area. This gets better over time. I had a similar wound and now you can hardly see the scar.
My first surgery the wedge took 6 weeks to reduce down to nearly gone but I then had my second surgery last week so the same lump is back so I assume another 6 weeks for me again
Thank you for the info- I didn’t know what to expect and ‘the wedge’ is a bit alarming. It’s big because I had a total thyroidectomy as well as all my lymph nodes on the right removed. I hope you recover quickly from your second surgery
By 6 weeks it was quite small. It’s thyroid fluid he told me that after 3 weeks I could massage it gently.
Hi
I had two surgeries. One in Dec 24 and one in Jan 25. I was advised to use Bio-Oil on it gently when it had healed.
