Hi all,

I have recently had a hemithyroidectomy for a nodule found where I was told that it was thyroid cancer.

Currently deciding on the next steps (completion thyroidectomy) but I’ve been told they believe all the cancer has been taken and I’m low risk of it spreading anywhere outside of the thyroid.

Im just buying my first home and so am looking to take out life insurance. I’ve looked at a few companies that tell me because I’ve had cancer, I cannot get life insurance.

Has anyone got any recommendations for companies that offer life insurance to recently treated Thyroid cancer?

Unfortunately I don’t know of any companies specifically so I did some Google searching, and most companies say that they do - your mortgage provider or broker should be able to put you through to someone that can do the research for you (maybe)?

Hi lovely,

I am in a very similar situation to yourself. I have papillary thyroid cancer. I have had a total thyroidectomy and 16 lymph nodes removed from my neck. I am also buying my first flat, I have been rejected from legal and generals life insurance which was recommended by my mortgage advisor. I see your post was made over 1 month ago, I was wondering if you had any luck in finding any life insurance if so please can you let me know what the company is called?
