My GP is recommending I try a fasting diet like the 16:8 but I thought if we are on Thyroxin it’s best to eat little and often? Does anyone have any anecdotal or actual research on this? A Google search has told me that it’s fine/it’s not fine for women!
Hi.
In my case the only way I am not gaining weight is fasting. I have done it before cancer and I am doing it now. I am eating at about 4pm daily unless I am at work. I know it's not ideal but my body do not like anything else.
Never thought I had to look if it is OK. And I feel OK and my bloods are alright.
Take care x
I remember speaking to my oncologist many years ago and asking if he thought I should change my diet.
He told me "You didn't get cancer because of anything you ate, so you don't need to change that"
To me that means, eat or don't eat, eat one way, diet another, it's your choice but it's not relevant to your cancer.
So if you want to follow a strange diet, you're no different from a person with a thyroid who wants to.
Best wishes
Barbara
