Good afternoon, does pregnancy increase the change of recurrence? My thyroid cancer came on during/ after pregnancy ? Hormones?... if we have another child would it increase the chance of it coming back? I would love another baby but scared.
thank you x

  • Hi

I can't answer your question I'm afraid but I noticed that you hadn't had any responses yet.

If you type 'pregnancy' into the search bar in this group you'll find lots of previous posts on this topic. You could have a look through them and contact any posters who you think might be able to help you further.

You could also post this question in the ask a nurse section of the community and one of the specialist cancer nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.

  • This is something you'll want to talk to both your thyroid cancer team and your gynaecologist about. It shouldn't be an issue if they monitor your carefully and adjust your dose as you go along.
In the time I've been here, many people have had babies during and after thyroid cancer. The docs just have to make sure that your TSH is optimised to ensure you're save and there's no harm to the baby.

    Best wishes
