Hi everyone
Just wondered if you can take multi vitamins following thyroidectomy and RAI treatment (this was in 2017)?
II always used to take them before thyroid cancer but have been scared to since.
I presume it doesn’t interfere with thyroxine as long as it’s taken at a different time?
Thanks in anticipation.
Heya Bloggs,
Multivitamins are fine to take, however depending on what's in them will tell you what time to take them at.
So if they contain calcium, you need to take them at least 4 hours after your thyroxine. If they contain iron, you need to take them at least 6 hours after your thyroxine.
You also don't need any that have added iodine in them.
Hope that helps!
