Good morning everyone,
I have a 3 cm nodule and I had a biopsy 3 months ago and an ultrasound. The biopsy came back benign. The ENT wanted to repeat the biopsy and ultrasound 3 months later. I have just received my results.
left thyroid nodule oncocytic metaplasia oncocytic lesion labelled THY3F.
Has anyone else had results similar to these and what was the treatment.
thank you
Hi there, I am sorry you are going through this. Your results indicate they are not sure, or its indeterminate from the results whether is malignant or not. It will be dependent on your consultant/surgeon whether they'll remove it or keep monitoring it instead due to its size. If its over 4cm they tend to remove it even if its not confirmed via biopsy. I hope you get answers soon - waiting is the worst feeling!
Hey, I had two FNA'S and one was Thy3a and second Thy3f, had a total thyroidectomy and full biopsy was Follicular variant of papillary thyroid cancer with positive margin and lymphovascular space invasion. After removal I had a dose of RIA and having to be suppressed (tsh) for 5 years or so with regular blood tests 3-6 months. My levels aren't stable so constantly getting upped and reduced atm.
