I think I'm posting to tell myself that for now I'm entering a shaky wait and see period in my life.
unfortunately as posted before my lateral neck dissection was not completed during the second surgery although I have n1b in lower lateral level 4 which I understand was removed first surgery but surrounding lymph nodes possibly not during second surgery. Is it worth praying that the phenomenon of skip metastasis came my way missing levels 2 and 3.
My first ultrasound came back clear for those levels and I've had clarification that a central neck dissection was completed. I'm waiting on a C T scan with iodine and my thyrogloblin results.
Telling myself now that yes the second surgery was worth it but my chance of recurrence has to be high being a medium to high risk cancer so a third surgery is more than likely coming. When who knows.
Unsure why at this point that RAI was on the cards but now seems to be off the table.
Thanks for letting me post a true friend thinks I've gone into catastrophic mode. Currently unsure if he is correct certainly thinking a recurrence of cancer is imminent probably because it wasn't correctly approached beforehand.
Hoping everyone is upbeat and stunned to step over Christmas festive stuff trying to get to the checkout at garden centres !!!!
