Hi everyone
I had an outpatient appointment in Belfast on Thursday and have been given 2 possible dates for my operation.
The appointment went really well despite being late to it because of traffic and trying to get parking in the Royal Victoria Hospital. Tip - if you have an appointment in the Royal, go early because the traffic and car parking set up is insane.
The doctor was very nice and very helpful, discussed everything about my previous results and what the surgery would involve. I will have the surgery in Belfast City Hospital on either the 9th or 16th February. I will have at least one overnight, possibly 2 depending on how it all goes, and will then have a follow up appointment about 3 weeks later.
I won't be having any radiotherapy, will be put on tablets instead. We discussed my levothyroxine which they will review and by the sounds of things this is what i will be continuing to take, with possible increased dosage.
I have since also got my appointment for my Pre-Op assessment on Tuesday morning in Belfast City Hospital as well, but haven't been given my operation date confirmed as yet.
I am feeling good about having the information now about possible dates and no radiotherapy, just have to wait and see now what happens going forward.
Tony
