Hi all,
I had a total thyroidectomy for PTC 2 months ago and for the past week my voice has changed. I can’t shout, laugh, or even cough as I normally would. I did tell my consultant at my 6 week follow up appt that I had a slight sore throat on one side that comes and goes, which she thought could be related to a bruised laryngeal nerve during surgery. My nasal endoscopy showed normal working vocal cords.
I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced voice changes or sore throat, change in coughing since having a total thyroidectomy? I’m due to have RAI treatment in a couple weeks so hoping it doesn’t worsen further.
Thanks,
Jade
