Hey all,

Question for those who have had experience with radioactive iodine treatment. How does it disperse from surfaces and things I have touched? Antibacterial wipes or soapy water OK?

Thanks

  • Hello Dee

I had my RAI in April and the guy that gives you it will fully explain the do's and don'ts.  You cannot prepare food for other people and keep Yr cutlery etc separate. It's not as bad as it sounds I promise you. I had No side effects and straight back to work (in a room on my own)

Are you due the pill soon? Hope it goes well .

  • Thanks for the reply. I had my treatment this week. I was not in a good head space beforehand, hence the questions. I am isolating at home now but I haven't left my room. I'm scared of the risk to my family and contamination. I'd rather just stay away.

    • I spent 30 mins at a time in the same room ,but 2 metres away then another 30 mins later in the day...also went out for nice walks. Just remember to keep 2 metres away...

Keep going, it's worth it xx
