Levothyroxine after thyroidectomy - what side effects did you have?

Morning , I am on 150 and have been on this since mid Jan 25. I have no side effects but I am due a review and think they may reduce as this is quite high I think.

I really hope you feel like you again soon..maybe talk to Yr nurse, mine are so helpful.

Hi there, I had my total in Jan and I suffered almost immediately with severe headaches, felt tired and disoriented. I was on 125mg. After my 6 week checkup my bloods confirmed this dosage was too high but couldn't reduce it drastically so went down to 125 2 days a week and 100mg 5 days.

I noticed immediately my mood was different and headaches had improved. I've since dropped again to 100mg daily now which seems to have done the trick and I feel more myself. 

I had no idea it could affect me so much, I was told by the specialists that the headaches weren't directly a side affect but for me, there most definitely were. 

It didn't really affect my appetite much but I am being careful with what I eat to ensure I don't put on too much weight.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am glad to hear positive feedback about the right dose of Levothyroxine. I am waiting blood test results to review the dose I am taking.
