Hi! I had 1/2 my thyroid out for a biopsy 4 weeks ago, my surgeon said I would have a follow up appointment 4 weeks so rang the hospital to see where I’m at, they said the biopsy has now been sent to Christys for a second opinion and waiting on their result. so now I’m thinking the worst ofc. can anyone tell me if they have had similar happen to them and had a positive outcome? I have a 2 year old son and looking after him and having the surgery first time round was hard work just praying it’s not bad news. Thanks
Hey sorry your going through this! It's the absolute worst waiting for results anyway and when they take longer than said well sooo much worse!
I had to wait 7 weeks for my results from my full Thyroidectomy, they said 3-4, I rang after 4 was told staffing issues, then again at 5-6 and told they had sent it out to a third party, found out at 7 weeks and I knew because my CIN wouldn't tell me anything on the phone and got me in to see him mid clinic appointments in his breast clinic so I knew it was bad news, but I was already armed with loads of information and thankfully mine wasn't the literal worst diagnosis I could have got so although hearing "cancer" because of the biopsies which were suspicious I informed myself of everything so I was grateful it wasn't worse!
Sorry I didn't give you any positive news there but honestly it could still be ok, they could just want a check as other results may not match up with what they see etc.
I wish you the best news
