Hey guys, I had the left side of my thyroid removed last year due to a 3cm nodule. It turned out benign but I have a multi nodular goitre and there are at least 5/6 nodules on my remaining thyroid, all around the 1cm mark. There is no plan on following up these nodules and I have been discharged to my gp after 2 blood checks. I also since have 3 cyst 's/nodules being investigated two on my foot and one Gynae related. I am worried, yes all these 'lumps ' will most likely be benign but I do feel the need to keep an eye on things. I had hoped the whole thyroid would be removed but it wasn't to be...I just don't know how to approach the gp about monitoring...is this a possibility? Or an I'm going to have to wait to see if any symptoms appear?! Trying not to worry but Is that not quite a lot off lumps for and already small gland! x
Unfortunately, some people have thyroids that just love making lumps. Most will be benign, but I understand your desire to get some kind of monitoring. I would suggest to ask your GP if you can be referred for - for example - annual ultrasounds.
It's exceedingly likely that the foot and gynae cysts have any connection at all. And I say that as somebody with a long and painful history of Bartholin cysts.
Best wishes
Barbara
