Hi everyone

Had TT feb 2022 with left and central neck dissection , 1st dose of Rai April 2022, 2nd dose of Rai january 2023 diagnosed with poorly differentiated….. there is currently a area below thyroid bed that isn’t taken up much iodine so they have decided to give 4 weeks of radiotherapy, I won’t be having a mask as not needed and my throat isn’t part of the area more collar bone …… I was just wondering if anyone had similar and any tips for foods to make and eat.

  • I don't recall this happening to any members recently, but I do know people who have been through External Beam Radiation.
It's not very pleasant, but I think the food advice is to keep it bland and keep it soft - custards, bland soups, soft squishy stuff like mashed potato, semolina and others.

I would suggest to maybe pop over to the throat cancer group as people there may well have had radiation on their neck and throat area and my be able to give more advice.

    Best wishes

    Barbara
