TSH levels

Hi there!

I had a TT and lymph nodes removed in February this year. RAI in May. Full body scan after RAI was all good. Was put on 100mg of Levothyroxine. Had bloods done in June and now told my dosage will increase to 125 mg. Extra 25 mg during the week but remain at 100 mg at weekends. This is due to my TSH sitting at 0.74 and they want it to be 0.1. Does this seem normal as part of trying to get me on the correct dose? Should I be worried? I’ve put in a little weight since surgery too. Funny how you can forget about what you’ve been through and suddenly you feel very vulnerable again. X

  • Yes, that sounds entirely normal. Actually, you've got a doctor who is more open to that sort of flexible 'some days one amount, other days another' which is a really good thing. Some will only move you up or down in big chunks and the risk is to be swinging over and under and taking a long time to get to where you want to be.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks so much Barbara! I have just spoken with my specialist nurse who said the same. She said my body is still adjusting and it’s all still quite new! Had myself in a right tizzy all day. Xx
