I was diagnosed with Papillary cancer in September 2019 and had a partial removal of thyroid and adjoing lymph nodes in October, I subsequently then had to have a full removal of thyroid after they found the cancer had spread. I had RAI in January 2020 . My first check up was booked for March and lockdown happened so all appointments were cancelled. I have only just had my check up and all is well thank goodness.
I did report that I was having a lot of trouble with my throat area and feeling like something was in it. I was reasurred it was just the scar tissue. I have ocntinued to have symptoms and started to not be able to eat without being in pain. I was told to look into my own throat as they couldnt because of covid rules. I could clearly see 2 ulcers on the left side of the back of my throat and a big lump where my tonsils once were situated. I was sent for a barioum swallow xray. I was diagnosed with lesion, a stricture and cyst. I was then referred for an urgent Endoscopy which I had last week. I was sent to another hopsital for this and they did not seem to have any notes on me and thought I had been referred by my GP. I did tell them Ihad an abnormal barium swallow xray but they said as they had not seen the report it was unconfirmed. The Endoscopy came back as normal findings with a Hiatus Hernia and Oesphosigitis but did not take biopsy. I am now totally confused and I am not booked to see my Throat surgeon until the 24th where he thinks he is going to give me the results of the biopsy.
I have spoken with my oncolgy Nurse and asked her to get a message to my Consultant but until then I just have to wait. Utterly agonising!!
I can’t offer any advice but wanted to stop by and send some love your way. It’s so hard trying to get diagnosis and treatment for anything right now. Sending positive vibes that all is well with you. I can totally empathise with how you’re feeling; I hope you have some answers soon.
Thank you for your kind words x x
