Hi hello just wondered if anyone else was going through my diagnosis.  Have had my Chemotherapy and because my lymph nodes have not gone down as much as Drs would of liked. Looks now like surgery or Radiotherapy?

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.

I noticed that no one had come forward to share their experiences with you so thought I'd drop by to see if I could help. If you type 'retroperitoneal seminoma' into the group search bar it brings us few previous posts which mention this. You could have a look through them and reply to any of the more recent ones if you think the poster can help you further.

It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Latchbrook thanks for advice I have written a profile. Also looked up primary retroperitoneal seminoma on site and stuff on there is years old. I am aware my diagnosis is quite rare. Thanks for the help.

  • Oh that's a shame that previous posts about retroperitoneal seminoma are very old.

Is treatment different for the type of testicular cancer that you have from other types? The reason I ask is because if not then you could still ask questions and chat to others on here.

For example, I was diagnosed with amelanotic melanoma which is a very rare form of melanoma. However, all melanomas are initially treated in the same way so I benefited from hearing of other melanoma sufferers experiences.

    Wishing you all the best.
