Combed the internet to try and find an answer to my query but it seems there is nothing on what I'm about to describe so would appreciate others opinions please.
Around the age of 13 it was discovered I had an undescended testicle on my left side, what is strange is that up until then I suffered no pain or noticed any lump just where the top of my scrotum joins my lower abdomen yet here it was all of a sudden with slight discomfort. The G.P at the time disgnosed a "hernia" and I was referred for surgery. I had the surgery and was told the lump was actually a "partial" undescended testicle and this was brought down towards the scrotum and held in place with an external stitch. The testicle from that day onward was never low in the scrotum it was always just inside the top of the scrotum and as the years progressed and I reached puberty it never developed and was a shrunken small testicle, hard to touch.
Many years later I developed abdominal discomfort above the testicle to the left of my navel, a slight hardness could and can still be felt today, this was never tied in with the testicle problem I hasten to add. I saw G.P and consultants about the annoying testicle 40 years later and surgery was perfomed to remove it (orchidectomy).
Now the part that is of concern to me. I was told by the surgeon post op that he had had a job on trying to remove the testicle through keyhole surgery but quote "has got most of it out". I found this a strange thing to say!!!!
On return home I later experienced what looked like the testicle still being there, or part of something that would drop into my scrotum which seems to be attached on the spermatic cord. I could push this thing back up into my lower abdomen and it would sometimes reappear in my scrotum.
Ever since I experince some nagging pain from time to time. The hard area next to my navel is bigger it has taken many years, I am now suffering from daily nausea, headaches on the left side, feel quite ill, abdominal pain. This is many years following on I am now 65 but its been a slow progression to where I am now. I have been told I also have peripheral Neuropathy which has been slow over many years to develope in my legs and now my arms, I feel very ill and these days cannot live normally due to symptoms. Constant Diarrhoea. Pain across my lower back and left flank area also now travelling up into my upper back.
I have had an enlarged Prostate with high readings of PSA above 10, very restricted, difficult to urinate and flow reduced. MRI scan of prostate showed enlarged but biopsy showed negative cancer at that time. I had surgery 2 years ago TURP and this has cured restricted urine flow and I can now urinate normally.
I have had recent C.T and MRI scan of abdomen with normal results, no explanation as to what the lump is I can feel next to navel, they say nothing to be seen. Endoscopy result and Colonoscopy result also normal. Blood tests show abnormal reading of Amylase below the normal limit NOT above and abnormal result for Eosinophils below normal limit.
To date these are the only abnormal findings in blood.
My question is could I have cancer in the spermatic cord and in the remaining un removed testicle taking into consideration the rapidly worsening symptoms/results I have posted above? Could this testicle be the cause of my present illness, doctors are dismissing the cause of this illness and only treating my symptoms with anti sickness medication and painkillers which doesnt work.
