testosterone replacement gel v injections?

Hi everyone
I had a question about testosterone replacement gel v injections.
I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Seminoma (7cm) in February 2023 (day before 30th birthday), and had chemo with Carboplatin in April 2023.  I had my first testicle removed when I was 2/3 years old (due to complications),  so when I underwent my Orchidectomy for the cancer, I was left with no testicles. I now have a prosthesis.

I've been on testogel since February, starting on 3 pumps a day and now increased to 6. My recent blood results showed my trough level was around 11, and whilst SBGH was slightly off I have had some results which show a peak level around 40. Although my testosterone is within the normal range (both trough and peak), I still feel I have less energy than before, I'm more lethargic and lack motivation (I've also had other health issues since February which hasn't helped!).

I'm considering going onto the injections to test whether the testosterone via injection will improve some of my symptoms. I also find it annoying having to apply gel every morning, especially when I used to swim/ exercise first thing in the am.

Has anyone had any experince of gel v injections, and found even though their testostrone levels were normal on the gel, their quality of life was better with the injecitons?

Thanks very much!!
  • Hello TJM

I see you haven't had any replies to your post. It's not something I can help you with though but with my reply it will be "bumped up" to the top of the forum and I hope someone with the appropriate knowledge will respond.

    Best wishes - Brian.
