Testicular Cancer Complications

Hello everyone,

As i did not find much online about my current issue, and i’m also a bit frustrated from the doctors comments i decided to write on here.

In December i’ve been diagnosed with testicular cancer, and exactly 8days ago i had a radical orchiectomy done to remove my left testicle. The scar and prosthesis seems to be very good, no signs of infections and settling down. However, since a few days i have noticed to have an enlarged and hard vein on my penis that gets more painful when i get an erection.

I saw the doctor for this and he insisted that was a cyst (not related to the surgery) and not a vein getting harder, because obviously my penis was soft and he couldn’t see/touch the full vein which is definitely visible and painful when my penis is erected. End of the story the doctor said  not to worry about although the paramedic team of 111 said that the issue sounds like a blood cot. And i’m worried that this could only create more damage.

Has anyone ever experienced the same after the surgery or anyone knows more about this?

Please do answer if you do.

Looking forward to read some news soon.

Fabian

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer and that after surgery you're getting pain.

I can't answer your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses. This could be because no one in this group has had this specific problem or that the person with the right experience hasn't seen it yet.

You could also post your question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist cancer nurses will respond within 2 working days.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hello and sorry to hear about your diagnosis and after surgery problems. I had a very large blood clot post surgery that meant from my belly button down to my knee including my penis went black, I know others have had much smaller clots and they usually clear up soon after surgery occasionally the scrotum fills with clot which looks like surgery never happened but honestly most disappear themselves. The area around the groin has had major trauma and I would anticipate your symptoms will disappear in coming few days however keep eye on things and should bruise become severe get things looked at

    Hope this eases your mind

    Kind regards

    Dougie
