Good afternoon

im new here

i went to my gp 2 weeks ago after finding a lump.
I was referred for an ultrasound scan and had this Friday and was told the lump was on the outside and possible some kind of solid mass and would be referred to urology for second opinion

this morning I had a call from a nurse in urology and they have looked at my scan and put me on a 2 week pathway cancer referral to testicular clinic

I read that testicular cancer is usually inside the testicle not on the outside

but I now can’t help but worry

has anyone else had this

am I worrying over nothing?
thank you in advance

  • Hi

I think it's entirely fair to feel worried.  The good thing is you are now in the system and will know fairly soon if there is anything going on and they will give you a plan.

I am not quite sure what you mean about inside/ outside...   For me the tumour was kinda  part of the testicle.  When the consultant showed me on the screen (ultrasound) you could see how it was different to the original bit.  Mine was about 38mm so quite noticeable.  It was also firmer and "heavier" than the other one.

Someone else may have a view to add.  Take care..
