Back in '22 we found an itty bitty mass in righty. It was pure seminoma stage 1A. Been monitored since then. Last routine check was in May/June.

In October '24, a stomach bug went around work, after a week of suffering, I went to the ER. Mentioned my left and remaining testicle is achy, but I work with 5yr olds so I probably strained something.  An ultrasound later and a mass was found. A week later I was in the OR for surgery.  This time around I got *lucky* and had non-seminoma (90% EMBRYONAL, 10% YOLK SAC). Stage 1A. Because its predominantly Embroyonal this makes me a higher risk as does the reoccurance.  It seems like my primary doc following my case and the second opinion that they are on the fence between monitoring or one round of BEP and monitoring.  I am on the fence too and a ball of anxiety.  I know the statistics and all of that and in this case it doesn't make it any easier.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Waiting for results and to hear what treatment you'll be having can be a very stressful time so I found that trying to fill as much of my time as possible doing things I enjoyed really helped.

I'm not a member of this group but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
