Hi everyone, I was just wanting to ask a few questions which I hope is ok? I recently had an endoscopy done, as I'm having stomach pain, trouble swallowing and breathing. Now I do have gerd, and a hernia and have been on ppi's long-term. I've also had half my thyroid removed due to a multi nodular goitre and a 3cm nodule going rogue, thankfully benign. Anyhow, several white patches were found in the stomach fundus, which the Dr said she'd never seen before, I think they were almost polyp like. The nurse said not to worry too much as these things are almost always ok and biopsies are quite standard type thing but then I read the notes and it's marked as urgent. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it and this is the usual case? I have had alot off biopsies done over the past few years and I'm not sure why this one is upsetting me so much! I know it's more than likely due to my stomach medication. I am not feeling great extremely tired, pain in stomach, also left breast and arm pit. My lips have also been going blue on and off, I'm not gasping for air but just find it hard and tiring to breathe. also I have awful difficulty and pain swallowing: water, tablets, certain foods. I choke/cough alot. Chest x-ray was fine. Anyhow what symptoms did you have in the very beginning and how long does urgent results take? Many Thanks.
It’s such a worry waiting for results and it’s definitely the hardest time! It’s so easy to jump to the worst case scenario! I had an endoscopy and there was a polyp that was benign and a very small patch that was positive. I then had a laparoscopy to check which confirmed the diagnosis. That was almost eight years ago! So stomach cancer can be treated especially if it’s been found early, as mine was!
Hopefully you don’t have to wait too long and you can find out what is causing your symptoms.
Others will share their experiences but try not to go to that dark place! X
Jac
