I initially went to the GP with food intolerance, who sent me for blood tests and scans for possible IBS. The ultrasound came back with pancreatitis, gallstones, fatty liver and a polyp on my ovaries. Also adenomyosis. She's sending me fast track to the hospital and am just waiting for the consultant to make a decision what to do.
On looking at my GP records on my app it also says adenocarcinoma with uterine polyp, and yes I did Google it and it's not good. I can't understand why she didn't mention this to me, all she said was that everything was OK, no lumps or bumps at all.
To say I am scared is an understatement, I had breast cancer 17 years ago and was on tamoxifen for 10 years.
has anyone else had this?
I know I should wait to see what the consultant says but it's not helping my mental health
Thanks for listening
Hi Spills12 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
Like you, I've also had breast cancer and I agree that waiting for results is very difficult. Hopefully, you won't have too much longer before you know what, if anything, you're dealing with.
Sending virtual ((hugs))
Hi Spills12
I can appreciate that this time of uncertainty must be very difficult to deal with.
Since you’ve mentioned a uterine polyp, you might find it helpful to join the womb group where a number of ladies have experience of uterine polyps. As your polyp was noted on your ovary, you might also find it useful to have a look at the ovarian group. I’ll put links to both below.
As you’ve found, google is not your friend at the moment without a firm diagnosis so try not to read about outcomes there. I had a different cancer, but have had experience of pancreatitis, gallstones and having my womb removed, so I know it’s worrying having so much going on at the moment. I also had an adenocarcinoma cancer. These are the links which might help
I hope you’ll be able to find out more soon and be able to move forward.
Sarah xx
Thank you both for your replies.
I rang back my surgery and had a telephone appointment with a different doctor and he told me that the results were recorded wrong and I don't in fact have stomach cancer! How could this be allowed to happen? I have written a strongly worded email to the practice to make a complaint.
I'm still under investigation for the polyp though.
It's beena roller coaster of a week.
Great news that you don't have stomach cancer and I hope the polyp turns out to be non-cancerous.
Anne
Thank you, I had polyps taken out in 2019 so hopefully it won't be a biggie x
