Hello,
I have recently been diagnosed with Stomach Cancer ( Lead Balloon )
Just coming to terms with it and struggling to eat and drink, still waiting for another test and a Laporoscopy to find out the full extent then will know if surgery is possible and how much chemo.
All a bit daunting really, Guess I am not the first to say this, How do you all manage apart from working and keeping busy.
Thanks D.
Hi I was diagnosed with stomach cancer and have just come back from 3 days tests in St Thomas’s..like you I am having trouble eating and drinking. I know I have to get food in me but I am struggling . My lovely hubby makes great soup which I’d better than the gloopy shakes. No lumps at all or it just gets stuck . I wish you the very best .
Hi Superval,
how are you?
Sorry for the delay in replying, been at work.
its lovely to hear your kind words,
I wish you the very best in getting cured, we are both starting a journey that will be tough but, worth fighting for.
be strong and don’t be too proud to ask for help.
Kind Regards D
ps Nurse told me to eat, cheese, chocolate and high calorie drinks, worth a try
Hi D
thank you for your reply. Waiting to hear about chemo cos I want to zap this as soon as possible. I am 68 and have a wonderful family . There’s so much I still want to do. I have 2 great grandchildren due this year. I love to eat Pom bears with liver pate as it melts in the mouth and tastes of real food. Full fat soft cheese is good . Hate the milk shakes as makes me feel sick.
I don’t know about you but I get wiped out really fast and sleep a lot. Off work at moment as wobbly.
please keep in touch as I need a like minded person to talk to
kind regards
V
Hi Val,
How are you feeling today, we’ve been out and about seeing family and enjoying the overdue nice weather, it keeps us distracted. I am like you waiting for a start date for chemo, still waiting for a laporoscopy and the hospital hasn’t confirmed dates yet. Like you food is hit and miss, I try to eat some normal things but, nearly always end up paying for it afterwards.
Best advice an old friend has given is what matters is between the ears, we have to be mentally strong to beat it.
have you asked you nurse for anti-sickness meds? Try and persevere with the shakes and get plenty of fresh air.
take care and be strong.
all the best D
How have you been? I was recently diagnosed . Want to know how others have coped
