Hi all have had laparoscopy today and been told having chemo first, then a total stomach removal, then more chemo, feeling very nervous about coping with stomach removal. But am trying to stay positive but has been a complete shock as went to A&E with what I though was a bad stomach bug!!!!
Hi
This will be such an anxious time as you come to terms with this news! There are lots of people on this group who will support you
through this!
At this point there are more questions than answers but as your treatment plan develops, it is much easier.
I had chemo ECX for two months - three cycles then a partial gastrectomy in January.
I recovered really well and now eat and drink pretty much as before, albeit smaller portions.
If it helps do post any questions you have and someone will give you some support and answers.
I found information from the Oesophageal Patients Association website a great help. ( OPA)
Take care x
Jac
Hi mad house, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer a few weeks ago, had a CT scan 2 days later, a laparoscopy last week where I was also told I was facing a total gastrectomy, and then an MRI this morning because the CT showed a shadow on my liver. We are pretty much in the same boat!
Happy to talk about it, feel free to drop me a message.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
