It’s a worrying time, no doubt, however, hopefully now that it’s been identified things start moving quickly. That was our experience when my husband was diagnosed in August 2025, the NHS for all its challenges, was absolutely brilliant.  Hoping all goes well for you x

This is the worst time! The medical team will do all the tests which will then be considered by the MDT to determine the treatment plan.  This happened to me almost eight years ago and I had chemo and a partial gastrectomy.  I focused on the things that I could control.  I had bowel cancer ten years earlier so a second cancer diagnosis took me back to a dark place!

I walked as much as I could and ate high levels of protein and calories as I knew that I would lose weight through the treatment.

Hello, my mum has also been diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach cancer which they also found by gastroscopy.

She had anemia due to internal blood loss and was found on this test. 

She was warned just out the blue it could be that or stomach ulcer which we expected so this was a total shock, they found the tumour in the fundus and actually we could see the scans on My Chart which i wouldn't recommend looking at as these where dreadful. Unfortunately she also has some in her lungs and liver.

No surgery i'm afraid as it is well advanced, which i can't understand as how we got to this stage without her fully noticing but she has been on a 'diet' for what feels like a decade and just thought she was losing weight which she was delighted about but chemo has been offered, i'm not sure she is strong enough for it tbh. She is 75

I've had a lot of help here on the site asking questions and she has also had a visit from the local hospice which at 2 weeks has mover really quickly.
