You're doing the right thing keeping your fitness up. 

You're doing the right thing with keeping your fitness level up. It's going to be a long journey with the treatment's and tests then hopefully surgery. I had operation nearly three years ago it took me a while to fully recover,but I kept a positive attitude that I was going to do to get through it. It's hard but with the support of friends and family I now lead a fairly normal life doing things I want to do when I want to do them. I have the occasional rough day but it's not very often. Stay positive and you will be Ok.

I think the exercise is a good approach. Even if they decide to operate, they are likely to do some chemo first, and being as fit as you can is a good idea before the chemo starts.

the things i am finding hardest is the stay in hospital if i have the stomach removal

i am not a stay in hospital person

i know there are no alternatives.

but to be that vulnerable scare the living delight out of me 

how long were you in hospital before you were sent home

what support did you need when you were sent home?

Hi, I went home on the 6th day after the surgery, 

You’ll need a supply of soft food meals, precooked and frozen. I’d suggest at least for two weeks after getting home, ideally for a month. 
Stairs might be difficult for the first week or so, can you arrange sleeping on the same floor where your toilet is? 

You'll only be in hospital for about two weeks after the operation. The record recovery time is ten days. I was in for the two weeks.
