My poor dad had cycle three of his post op (TG) mop up chemo on Monday. FLOT. He’s so so poorly today, constantly belching, no energy, doesn’t want to eat, feels like he’s going to faint. Just so awful it’s heartbreaking to watch. He’s coped relatively well with all the other chemo so far but this one has hit hard. Maybe one more round to go a week Monday but I just don’t think he can take it. He’s wasting away.
Can anyone relate to this or offer any advice xxx
Oh I am really sorry to hear about your dad. The post op chemo can be much harder to cope with and there are many in this group, who were not able to complete all the cycles. The oncologist will consider options and if he is not strong enough, they may reduce the dose or delay it or decide the risks outweigh the benefits.
He has done so well to get this far, so take comfort from that and focus on building his strength back up.
Hope he begins to feel better soon!
Jac
