Hi all, well my husband has just left In a NHS car to go to Notts hospital hotel for his total Gastrectomy tomorrow. I’m obviously very upset as I can’t go with him but we live over 2hr away and I can’t drive. I’ll visit him Friday when I hope he’s come round a bit and is more with it, is that going to be long enough do you think?
Just thought I’d update you all and I’ll let you know how the op goes.

Thanks for been there x

  • Wow! That’s great news and he will recover better at home!
You must be so relieved, what a difference a week makes!

  • Hi Sue,

Just been thinking about your husband hows he doing, hope things are going well?

My Chemo isn't giving too many issues at the minute apart from struggling with sleeping due to aches and pains but I can manage that another week and its on to round two.

  • Hi Mick, nice of you to ask how my husband is, I’ve got to say he’s doing very well, eating small meals with no problem, in fact it’s hard to believe what he’s been through. He has a feeding tube that’s not been used also he injects the blood thinners every night

He said he was most impressed with the hospital and his care, I’m sure you’ll also find it that way.

Im pleased the chemo is going ok without too many side effects and hope it’s doing what it’s meant to do.

Stay In touch and hope it all goes well x

    Sue Xx
