  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I hope your husband's surgery went well yesterday and that he'll soon be back home if he isn't already.

I can't help with your question, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've searched the group to see if anyone else has mentioned an intradural tumour but drawn a blank I'm afraid. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that no one else has had surgery for this it could just be that they haven't posted about it. If there is anyone in the group who can help you hopefully they'll pop on soon.

Does your husband have a CNS (cancer nurse specialist) assigned to him? If so, they would probably be the best person to ask about your husband's expected recovery time. Alternatively, you could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 3 working days. If this is something that you think might be helpful, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.

When you have time, it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

He won't be home for at least a week.. 4 days in ICU then they want to keep him til there is less chance of infection. Also there was mention of intensive rehab depending on how much damage the op does.. All v scary!

We wentr yesterday as instructed for a pin marker to be put in preop under a cat scan.. But because there were. several emergency cases we waited 9 hours before being assigned a bed in a post op warPurple heart The op is considered a short one.. 2 to 6 hours so is scheduled for pm today with the marker going in this morning. He hasn't been assigned a CNS as yet as they haven't analysed the tumour yet.. BuPurple heartsurgeon his registrar and the recovery ward staff are there to ask when we need to.. The letter the consultant sent said followup may well be with oncologist so I am expecting a SNC to be assigned tPurple heartn (I had blood cancer treatment last year and that's how it worked for me) if and when. Necessary.. So still waiting.. Surgeon also said this sort of tumour is. Very rare so that's probably why you Purple heartuldn't. Find much but. Thank you for lookingPurple heartPurple heart
