I I was diagnosed with a myxofibrosarcoma just below my knee in November 25. I had limb saving surgery in December 25 and 6 weeks of radiotherapy finishing at the end of March 26. I am still struggling with my mobility. I am a dancer and have been doing some ballroom and Latin dancing but it’s hard and I am walking but very slowly and often need a stick. Has anyone had a similar experience who can give me any advice? I am doing all the physio exercises but I push myself and am probably overdoing it at times. I’m finding it difficult to know when my leg has had enough until I’ve done too much. ♀️
I would love to know for how long it is likely to keep improving if anyone has any experience? It is very up and down at the moment. It would be good to know if, eventually the pain when moving subsides and just becomes discomfort.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me from your experience.
Hi Dancer
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.
My experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma so somewhat different to your diagnosis. I can relate some to your movement issues though as I have ankolysing spondilitis and have recenty started walking with a stick.
Glad to hear you have some good physio exercies, I know how much they help me.
<<hugs>>
Steve
