Hi. I’m lying in bed and came across this webpage. I thought I would come and say hello. Currently going through a nightmare, like everyone else here. My little brother has stage 4 soft tissue sarcoma. In his arm muscle and has spread to his lungs. He has only turned 29. He had his 3rd radiotherapy treatment today. His plan is currently only for 5 days. Palliative radio. Absolutely heart broken. Can’t come to terms with any of this. His symptoms were worsening so quick. I lost my older brother 3 years ago (not cancer related) but the thought of now loosing my little brother too is just unbearable. My poor mum is beyond broken. Loosing a child is bad enough, but loosing 2. How do you ever start to deal with this. I hadn’t even heard of sarcoma until a month ago. I’m not quite sure what the point of this post is. Just wanted to show my support to everyone else going through this.
Hi Sandy Beach
So sorry to read about what your family is going through. I must admit when my wife was first diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma it was only when I looked it up I even realised it was cancer.
My wife had chemotherapy and her cancer did respond but I think even the consultant was somewhat surprised at that.
Another useful website is the one from sarcoma uk.
<<hugs>>
Steve
