Hello everyone, I had a stage 1 but grade 3 uterine sarcoma removed along with a radical hysterectomy in January. I’ve had 3 lots of brachial radiotherapy. It’s nearly June & yet today I am so exhausted I cannot get out of bed. When does this get better?? Pensive

  • Hi ScouseMagyar I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with fatigue, Radiotherapy can make you feel very tired, and this can continue for some time after the treatment has finished, because the radiation continues to build up in your body. I had radiation to my lungs, and it took me a good 6 months before the effects wore off.

I wonder if you have had a blood test lately. It might be worth getting a test to see if you are anaemic. Hope you start to feel better soon x

  • Thank you Chelle. I have been anaemic previously so will ask for that to be checked again. Thanks also for the reassurance about the tiredness. Intellectually I know it's what's going on but emotionally I'm so fed up of feeling unwell. x

  • I understand that completely. The treatment I am currently on, some days I can only sit on the sofa and do little else. It gets you down. I have learnt to accept that I have to take the bad days alongside the good, as my treatment is hormonal and I will have to stay on it indefinitely, some days it is hard to stay positive though xx
