Hi. Diagnosed with STS at the site of an existing AVM (arterial venous malformation) on 14 December. Under the care of Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham who have been brilliant so far. Have an apt next week for MRI & to see Oncologist & Plastic surgeon. All very scary & finding my emotions all over the place. Be good to chat to people in here.
Janty
welcome to the group! I am not surprised you are emotional and scared, I am the same . Its really only the extreme kindness and helpfulness of the various teams I have seen and this group of new friends that is keeping me on the straight and narrow so to speak. .Today is my 66 birthday and my best present was learning that I only have abdominal and one STS in my right lung, I certainly didn't have that on my gift list WE are all in a pretty rotten situation but we are here for each other which is something money cannot buy. Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing.
Nanci
Hi Nanci. First of all Happy Birthday . I am lucky that so far my cancer has not spread but it doesn't stop you from noticing every little twitch & trying not to think the worst. I'm hoping that I will get answers to a lot if questions I have on Tuesday, such as surgery, tissue margin, time in hospital, recovery time & treatment. It's such a lot to take in but like you I have wonderful family, friends & neighbours who are all helping me get through this. I will let you know how I get on at mt apt on Tuesday.

Hi Janty,
I know exactly how you are feeling regarding your emotions and wish you all the best with your journey.
In October i was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma after having what was believed to have been a ganglion removed, initially they mentioned venus malformation /ganglion.
You can read my story by 'clicking into' my name, hopefully it will give you some hope.
Today I received my letter informing me that the first of my 3 monthly tests is on the 1st March.....fingers crossed that nothing untoward presents itself.
Ps: Happy birthday Nanci, sending you lots of love and good wishes x
