Was informed that I have a GIST on 20th March 2024, been referred to another hospital but still waiting to hear. They need to do another endoscopy with an ultrasound. It is only 10mm, but I am still worried. Any advice would be helpful
Hi Tillymilly and welcome to our community though always a little sorry to see someone join it is great to feel part of this special team.
You might like to look at the GIST pages on the Sarcoma UK site here as it gives a lot of information about GIST, diagnosis and treatment. Sarcoma being rare there are a few specialist centers so that the team have experience, we were lucky to live close to Oxford so we did not need to travel far.
My wife's sarcoma is different - Leiomyosarcoma but she had two lots of chemotherapy and managed to render her cancer stable so the bit on the sarcoma uk site we most relate to is living with; we have been there for over 10 years now.
The period between the initial diagnosis and planning treatment is very difficult so hope you get some more news soon, do let us know how you get on.
<<hugs>>
Steve
