Malignant peripheral nerve tumour of sciatic nerve

Hi Emma, I have leiomyosarcoma which was found in a fibroid. I had a total hysterectomy but I have lymphovascular space invasion. I will have 3 monthly scans and consultations probably for the rest of my life. I haven't seen any posts about your type of sarcoma but I have read a blog written by a man who had sarcoma in his shin. How old are you? I'm imagining you're quite young. Are you able to walk? Hi Deb thanks for the reply I'm sorry it's late I'm 38. The wound has nearly healed but I need chemotherapy and radiotherapy as I was told the cancer was very aggressive. I was also told it would affect my fertility and I'm devastated. X

Hi Emma, I'm so sorry that your fertility would be affected. Do you have any children? Could you have your eggs harvested? Many years ago a friend of mine found out she had ovarian Cancer just weeks before her wedding. She was told that she would never conceive but went on to have to healthy pregnancies naturally. Deb x

Unfortunately I cannot harvest my eggs as low reserve and I'm unable to have an anesthetic as high BMI so I have come to rhe realisation I won't be able to have children naturally. Maybe by other means but I have to look into that in the future. Did your friend reserve her eggs? Did she require pelvic radiotherapy?
