Hello Esmeralda-Sue. What a shock you have had. Big hug to you, please try not to feel lonely. There are lots of people in similar situations, which hopefully will help. I hope there are others here who will make contact with you too. I have an abdominal liposarcoma too. It was discovered because I lost weight gradually over about 2 years and was left with a large tummy and some pain. I haven't been given a choice, like you, I have only been told I am having surgery in about a fortnight. I assume that they are going to be taking out other bits and bobs whilst they're in there though! I'm waiting for someone to tell me the results of my biopsy last week. I might know more soon! I cant help you make your choice but hopefully it will help to vent/air your thoughts here. In the meantime, take care xx Sparky
Dear Sparky,
Thank you for your reply. So sorry to hear to hear about your situation too. It’s really tough isn’t it. I hope you aren’t in too much pain. Interestingly, I am not having a biopsy as they said it wouldn’t necessarily be accurate. I am having scan results tomorrow as initially they found it with a scan of my lungs and this scan goes into my pelvis so they can see how far the tumour goes.,Today I am keeping busy staring with a run! Good luck with your surgery.
Thanks! Hope the run helped. I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Good luck! Xx
Hi just found this group, hope you don’t mind me joining in the discussion. I had surgery on the 15th March for a well differentiated liposarcoma, which went very well. Hope that yours has too. Lin
Hi Esmeralda-Sue and Sparky, thanks for letting me join your conversation. Not sure how much you’d like to know, but if feel very luck that my tumour wasn’t too big and didn’t affect any of my other organs, i was in hospital for a week, and was off work for 12 weeks. I don’t feel that I’m fully recovered yet but am certainly getting there, just get a bit tired at the end of the working week but I’m sure that will get better as time goes on. If you’d like more details I’m happy to share. Hope your operation is soon, take care.
