Hi. Anyone had a biopsy in their abdomen? I'm having one on Monday, having had a CAT scan which clearly shows a very large liposarcoma in my abdomen. I'm pretty terrified actually, fed up with needles, tests and pain.
Hi Sparky, that’s really tough luck. So sorry that you’re joining us. Waiting for biopsy results is a scary time and you have my total sympathy and best wishes for your results. How come you have a definitive diagnosis prior to the biopsy? With a bit of luck it will prove to be something less threatening. In any case, good luck to you.
Thanks Shackleton. Apparently it's all very obvious to the consultants with just the CAT scan. The biopsy is just a box ticking exercise and they're hopeful that I will only need surgery to remove the mass. I'm not being offered any other treatment at the moment. Not sure how to take that!
Hi Shackleton, it was ok, thanks for checking on me. I was nervous but needn't have been, it all went smoothly. Now the rubbishy waiting bit is in full swing. I have been told I'm being discussed by the multidisciplinary team on 16th July and might get told my results at my pre-OP assessment on the 19th. Feels like a long time but I'm sure it's not really. I guess my surgery will be pretty soon after the 19th, not sure. Just trying to get through each day without crying. The sunshine helps. How are you doing?
