BCC eye drop after surgery?

Hi, I just found this forum which I think is amazing so thank you everyone for sharing/helping

After many years (over 15) mentioning to nurses and GPs that I had something on my eyebrow that didn't feel right and being told it was nothing. When insisted it was growing faster I finally got a referral to a dermatologist (July 24) who believed was a BCC and referred me to a specialist (march 25). I got a biopsy a couple of weeks after to confirm it and waiting for Mohs surgery since.

I was called for pre-assessment last Friday (29 aug 25) telling me that is quite big so to expect a big scar in L shape and my eyebrow to raise a bit on that side as they pull the skin and the operation should be anytime in the next couple of weeks or up to a few months..

I fully trust the NHS and I just hope for the best. I've been searching around a lot and everything is kind of what I was told but there is something that is bugging me that I haven't heard before. I was told there is a chance that a surgery in that area can cause the eye to drop and to be watery which, if it happens might recover in time or might not.

Has this happened to anyone? It sounds very scary.

Also, does anyone know how much notice they normally give? I live alone and internet says in general 3 weeks but time frames & waiting list, in my experience so far, it's not happening as it should (everything is sooo slow)

Thanks

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I haven't had a BCC removed from my eyebrow, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
