Hi

I have had several surgeries for Basal Cell Carcinoma, mostly on my scalp, but also had 1 on my nose, for nearly 5 years.

My most recent surgery in December 24, has shown I need targeted Radiotherapy on 1 part of my scalp, as they're worried a nerve could be affected.

Does anyone have experience of similar, and could tell me how often treatment might be, and for how long etc. I know about the mask.  Thank you.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, I have had treatment for BCC in the past, although mine was removed surgically.

I've done a search in the group and found these previous posts which mention radiotherapy. Hopefully, some of them will have the information you're looking for.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
