Bascellex Reactions?

I have been prescribed bascellex for an area of Bowens Disease on the inside of my upper thigh. It took more than a month of use for me to see a reaction but now the area is raw.

I was told to do 5 days on 2 days off, but today is day 3 and I’ve put sudocrem on it to try and soothe it. Is this ok to do or do I need to push through the discomfort?

I have also noticed that the glands in my groin seem swollen. I assume this is a normal reaction but I can’t find any confirmation online.

any advice is much appreciated!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I haven't used bascellex, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Is bascellex known under any other name as I haven't been able to find anyone else in the group who's mentioned it's use?

I don't know if it's okay to use Sudocrem to soothe the area that you're treating and, if it doesn't tell you what to do on the instructions that came with the cream, I'd be inclined to speak to your doctor or consultant before applying it.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
