MOHS surgery waiting time at St Helens hospital

I had a BCC removed from my nose in Oct 22 and had a skin graft. Unfortunately it wasn't all removed and I was put on the waiting list for Mohs surgery in Dec 22. I'll be having a skin flap. The Consultant said at that point that the waiting time was 10 months.

I'm now at 13 months and when I spoke to the admissions team last week, they said it would be another 3-4 months. That will be 16-17 months.

I understand the pressures that the NHS are under and am very supportive of strike action.

I am wondering if anybody has had Mohs surgery recently or has been given a date at St Helens hospital, who can tell me how long they waited

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't have the experience you're looking for but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

One thing it might be worth you trying, is to advise the admissions team that you can take a cancellation if one comes up. Of course this assumes that you can as they can be fairly last minute.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
