My husband has had 10 treatments for stage 4 SCC cutaneous cell cancer which had spread to the outside of his lung and lymph nodes. Today he received his scan results which showed 4 tumours had gone and one so small it wasn’t measure and no new growths. This was the news we had hopped for but still not clear what it means. Has his cancer been down graded to a 2 or 3. We have always been told that stage 4 is not curable but if the tumours have gone does it mean he is cured or something? Does it mean that once he stops treatment it will just come back? Does anyone have experience with this please
we have been lucky as the only side affect for the treatment has been low platelets.
Hi Follyfoot
I haven't had immunotherapy myself but I have had a look in the group and found these posts which mention it for you to have a look through.
As for whether your husband will have his cancer stage downgraded, this would be a good question to post in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will reply to you. If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.
