I have just had Mohs surgery BCC removal from my scalp and am wondering the same thing. Probably a lot depends on the size and method of reconstruction. For me I think I will need more time off than I anticipated. I was hoping 2-3 weeks but I am not sure whether I need to keep the wound covered until it is completely healed - which apparently can take months.
Do you know what kind of repair you will have? I had a skin flap and a patch left open and I have felt the need to keep my head pretty still so far, but it was less than a week ago.
Thank you for your reply. I have no idea yet how much of my cheek will need to be removed. I am waiting for my mohs surgry appointment.. my boss is not very sympathetic and just keeps asking me how long I will be off after its done..
I hope yours heals up well , sending lots of good vibs
J
I had a bcc removed from my face, not with MOHS surgery. I am retired so didn't have the same problem as you. Looking at how I felt and looked, if I had been at work, I wouldn't have wanted to go for at least a month as it isn't a pretty site when stitches are first removed and you have to be so careful of infection, Good Luck, here for you to ask any questions.
