I had a consultation today with the dermatologist and she thinks I have one on my forehead and another on my nose virtually in the same place as the previous one I had removed from my nose, which fills me with horror he removed it and stitched it up and it still looks awful years later, god knows if he does the same again, two people I know have been to another hospital and had skin grafts, and you can’t even see the scars, how do I go about going to the other hospital which is not in the area.
Hi again hutchm
I'm glad to see you've found your way over here as there are lots of people who have had BCCs and who will be able to share their experiences with you.
You can have treatment wherever you want to and this page from the NHS gives more information on choosing a hospital. As you'll see this is normally done before your first appointment with the consultant so I think you'll need to speak to your GP or your surgery's practice manager to see how you go about changing hospitals.
I chose which hospital to have my excision at and also which one to have check-ups at so I know it's possible to do.
Let us know how you get on after speaking to your GP/practice manager.

I feel a bit better after a private consultation Wednesday the dermatologist, told me he can refer me to a surgeon after the biopsies have been done, and he said I can also request another hospital where they do the MOHs surgery, because I have a second bcc in virtually the same place as the last one, I think maybe if I had MOHs surgery this might not have happened. Also the first dematologist I saw this week wanted to refer me to have the to have, the new bcc,s taken out without biopsies. The second dermatologist said he was not convinced they were both bcc,s he thought one might be just sun damage. I am having the biopsies on 21 Oct, so I won,t do anything TIL then, thanks for replying.
No I am going to let the nhs biopsies go ahead, then if the waiting list is high on the hospital where they do the MOHs, surgery go private.
