I am likely to be prescribed an expensive drug which is not funded by the UK NHS - Vismodegib. Seems like the outrageous price varies depending on which hospital issues the drug (they each have different mark up policies). Does anyone have any ideas about a hospital in UK which has a more modest mark up approach and so make the drug more affordable ?
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I have no experience with Vismodegib but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet.
I typed 'Vismodegib' into the search bar in the group and found that posted on here about 7 months ago about being on this drug. By 'tagging' her into my reply I'm hoping she'll come on and respond to your post. The only other person who's mentioned it lives in America and she hasn't posted for years anyway.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I do hope you can get this drug at a reasonable price and do come back and let the group know how you get on.
x
